Bio

After graduation from Vandalia-Butler High School, Robert Klepinger worked as a tire salesman and a service technician prior to attending college to fulfill his ambition of becoming a teacher.  He graduated from Wright State University with a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in Physics teaching. Upon graduation from Wright State, he worked three years at Dixie High School in New Lebanon Ohio teaching chemistry, physics and general science before transferring to the Miami Valley Career Technology Center in Englewood as a chemistry teacher.  This is my 21st year there and my 24th year of teaching. I love education and grooming tomorrow’s leaders.

My favorite Democratic politician is Franklin Roosevelt.  Times were bad when he was president, but he tried to make the lives of the vast majority of Americans better.  Not everything he tried was right or worked, but he tried and tried again, and was beloved for it.  I don't see too many people happy about our current president or his minions, which includes Mike Turner.  Republicans have one goal, to make rich people richer.  They will LIE TO YOU, use HATE against people who are different from you, blame IMMIGRANTS, but at the end of the day all that matters to them is making the people and corporations who fund them fat with cash.  If you are thinking it will trickle down... it hasn't, it won't, and it’s time for them to stop lying to us by telling us that it will.

If there is a guide on who or what the Democratic Party is, it has to be the 2016 Democratic Party platform.  I read it, I agree with it.

Facts

I am committed to defend and advance the freedoms, lifestyles, and prosperity of all Americans, especially Ohioans. I cannot say the same for the incumbent Mike Turner who runs lockstep with President Trump, House Speaker Paul Ryan, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. I will not be intimidated or distracted by Republican foolishness.

Ohio's Uninsured

In 2008, 36.1 percent of the poorest Ohioans had no health insurance. As of 2015, the number was 14.1 percent – nearly a 61 percent drop. This was made possible by Ohio's expansion of Medicaid under the auspices of the Affordable Care Act. Like Trump, Mike Turner has fought to destroy it. I will fight to defend and strengthen it.

Ohio's Low-wage Jobs

Since the Great Recession, Ohio employers have added mostly low-paying jobs (paying between $7 and $13.39 per hour). In 2007, they made up 28 percent of the state’s employment. By 2013, it was 36 percent, making low-wage workers the largest category in Ohio’s work force. I will fight to raise the minimum wage to $15/hr. Mike Turner will not.

Social Security for Ohioans 65+

Ninety percent of Ohio's elderly receive social security benefits. In 2012, Ohio residents received $30.3 billion dollars from Social Security. Every $1 dollar of Social Security received in Ohio generates $1.80 of economic output. Spending related to Social Security by beneficiaries, businesses and workers on goods and services generates $51.8 billion in economic output for Ohio. I will fight to raise the taxable maximum from the current rate of $128,400.

Ohio Students with Loan debt

According to an index created by personal-finance website WalletHub, Ohio ranks first — that is, the worst — in the country on an index that calculates the burden of student debt based on 10 measures of indebtedness and earning opportunities. . The Buckeye state earned a score of 64.25 on a 100-point scale, with points effectively being demerits. Hawaii had the best score with 14.44. Currently, two-thirds of all students have student-loan debt, which is one of the highest proportions in the country. I will fight to reduce loan interest rates and make college free for households below $125,000.
